Bangkok Hospital Pattaya organized a special event in recognition of World Diabetes Day, highlighting its comprehensive care capabilities for diabetic patients. The initiative comes amid rising concerns, as Thailand currently has approximately 4.8 million people living with diabetes, with projections expected to exceed 5.3 million by 2040.
On November 12, the hospital launched the “Comprehensive Medical Care Campaign” at the Diabetes and Endocrinology Center. The event aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of proper diabetes management and encourage proactive prevention and care.
The program featured an educational exhibition on diabetes and a multidisciplinary panel discussion titled “Diabetes 360° Revealed,” led by specialists from various fields. Attendees also participated in interactive Q&A sessions and workshops. One highlight was a creative bubble tea workshop hosted by Dr. Oak (Dr. Smith Arayasakul), inspired by a recipe from MasterChef Thailand.
The event also included:
- Healthy food guidance to reduce diabetes risk
- Participation from multiple specialty centers, including Diabetes, Heart, Brain, Kidney, Dental, and Eye Centers
- Preventive health education and lifestyle counseling
On this occasion, Dr. Bunyaporn Chandra-Chamnong (Dr. Mo) joined the panel discussion to share insights on diabetic eye care, focusing on prevention strategies to reduce the risk of vision loss and blindness in patients with diabetes.
Participants also benefited from a wide range of complimentary and promotional services, including:
- Free finger-prick blood glucose testing
- Free basic foot screening
- Free body composition analysis or retinal screening
- Special-price diabetes screening packages
- Promotional pneumococcal (IPD) vaccination
- Health products tailored for people with diabetes and wellness-conscious individuals
