The Story of Khun Mae OH-O Satay
Khun Mae OH-O Satay was established in 2007 by Arada and Chumphon, who wanted to create an additional source of income by building upon their family’s experience in the pork industry. Chumphon’s family had operated a pig farming business for more than 30 years, providing valuable knowledge of pork selection and product quality.
The original pork satay recipe was introduced by a relative who had previously worked in Hong Kong. It was later refined to suit the preferences of customers in Chonburi. The business began as a small street-food stall in Ban Bueng District and quickly gained strong support from local customers.
Growing demand led to the development of the Khun Mae OH-O franchise. Instead of providing franchisees with a recipe to produce independently, ready-to-sell products are supplied to each location to maintain consistent taste, quality, and standards. Today, the network has grown to more than 50 locations across Chonburi under the production, delivery, and quality management of Mother’s Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Most franchisees have achieved success in operating their businesses.
Many franchise locations operate alongside well-known noodle shops or popular restaurants, where customers often order pork satay as an appetiser.
For this reason, franchisees with strong locations are better positioned to build a stable customer base, making it more difficult for competitors to enter the same market. The management has consistently maintained a clear policy of not allowing new franchisees to operate too close to existing locations.
It is therefore no surprise that many Khun Mae OH-O Satay franchisees are able to operate profitably and continue attracting customers over the long term.
